Post Construction/Remodel Cleaning Services

Phase 1 Rough Cleaning

Rough Clean

The rough cleaning stage takes place either during or just after the construction work wraps up. Rough cleaning can include scrubbing down plywood or concrete to ensure the new flooring is installed correctly. The rough cleaning phase will largely include properly disposing of debris, leftover building materials, and other large pieces. It will also include removing stickers and labels from doors, windows, and other items, as well as vacuuming the whole space.

  • Removing dust, dirt, and scuffs from all surfaces

  • Vacuuming and dusting woodwork, fixtures, and appliances

  • Cleaning the trim, baseboards, frames, and door jambs

  • Cleaning masonry, including tiles or brickwork

  • Removing stickers and labels from any installations

  • Ensuring the rest of your house is clean after construction

Phase 2 General Cleaning

General Clean Interior

The light clean phase is the most labor-intensive phase of the post-construction cleanup, and it also requires the most equipment. Restrooms, kitchens, and other rooms that serve a specific purpose will be attended to. Installations like toilets, sinks, windows, cabinets, and counters will get a thorough cleaning as well.

Phase 3 Final Cleaning

Final Clean Interior

The last phase is the final cleaning, during which the last-minute touch-ups are applied. Any dust or dirt that has settled since the second phase will now be vacuumed or wiped up. Our team will also go through the space with a fine-toothed comb to wipe down any smudges, fingerprints, and markings left behind by construction. A final interior scrubbing costs anywhere from $0.15 to $0.50 per square foot. A good final interior cleanup always includes a few key cleaning jobs, including:

  • Walls, including removing dust, dirt, scuff marks and smudges

  • Ceilings and light fixtures/fans

  • All trim, including all baseboards and door and window frames

  • The faces, sides and tops of doors

  • Floors, including buffing/waxing if applicable or vacuuming carpet

  • Ducts, vents and baseboard heating exchanges

  • Windows, including tracks and frames

  • Removing all trash, plastic coverings and stickers

  • Removing dust, dirt, and scuffs from all surfaces

  • Vacuuming and dusting woodwork, fixtures, and appliances

  • Cleaning the trim, baseboards, frames, and door jambs

  • Cleaning masonry, including tiles or brickwork

  • Removing stickers and labels from any installations

  • Ensuring the rest of your house is clean after construction

Exterior Construction Cleanup

For projects where the construction included exterior work, our team will also do a pass of cleaning that includes picking up any debris outside, making sure caulk and paint are finished correctly, and wiping down windows on the exterior. Sometimes this phase is simply a part of the light clean phase as well—whatever makes the most sense for your project.

Post Construction Cleanup Pricing Factors

There are many factors that contribute to the final cost of any post-construction cleanup job, including:

  • Size of the home or project. Larger projects command a higher overall price, but usually at a lower per square foot rate.

  • Supplies and equipment needed (for DIY solutions). If you’re tackling this yourself, you’ll need to supply all the cleaning tools and equipment for dumping. Otherwise, pros provide all of this as part of the price.

  • Overall condition and accessibility of the property. Expect a hard to access 10th floor apartment to run you quite a bit more than an easily accessed home.

Post Construction Window Cleaning Prices

Cleaning windows, interior and exterior, costs anywhere from $3 to $11 per window. This add on services has large price ranges because of both window size and accessibility. Costs increase for any exterior work done above the first floor.
